From Sales Calls to Softball Fields: Meet the Sales Executive Who Masters Both Worlds

All my hobbies include being outside or with my family. Anything sports related makes me happy. I have been coaching my daughter in all the sports she plays since she was playing tee-ball.

She plays for the Hurricanes Softball Team and I can always expect to be traveling to another softball tournament most weekends over the summer.

This is one of the reasons that I came to Century. I saw a post looking for a salesman and I applied because of the atmosphere they portrayed. They also allowed for freedom to spend time with my daughter, which my previous job didn’t.

Before Century I had been working in sales in other places such as for radio and building materials companies. Another reason I decided that I wanted to come to Century was because of my desire to be able to service what I was selling. I don’t like selling something that can’t be serviced.

 

Once I started at Century, I knew it was the place for me. Everyone here joins together to create a wonderful product and wonderful service. I like to have the big dog mentality when I go out to make sales pitches, because I know that I have a better product to sell than other competitors.

The most important Core Value at Century is integrity. As a salesman, you must be straightforward and honest. I will tell you exactly how it is no matter what. In today’s world it seems like nobody can trust anyone anymore, but I make it my mission to always be transparent. If you can show that you are trustworthy, you can get more people to follow you. Once you build that trust you are going to have a friend for life.

Of all the things I enjoy at Century, my favorite are the people. I love meeting new people, whether they are employees, customers, or just someone new I meet along the way. I love to help people and give my absolute best.

My best advice to give is to be honest with yourself and go with your gut. If something doesn’t seem right then walk away from it.
