Being around people is one of the most important things to me. I love to be around my family, friends, or coworkers most if not all the time. At home I love to spend time with my two boys and their pets. We have three dogs, a 37-gallon fish tank, and two guinea pigs.
People are my passion; this is what drives me to work hard at Century. I started with Century part-time when I was 16 and still in high school. I would swing by after school every day and work. Over summer breaks I did toner deliveries and kept busy.
The reason for Century being my first job is because of my stepmom. She was here and I had met and become familiar with several employees. My familiarity with them made it easy to find my place in the company and made it feel as if it were a family.
After high school I decided to try something new, so I ventured off and worked as a Special Ed Para for three years. That is all the time it took for me to decide that Century is where I belong. I came back to Century and have been working here since.
Now I am the Senior Dispatch Coordinator for the site. I answer phone calls, help manage the service email box, and enter service calls on the Ricoh website. I am driven by how fast paced this position is, at the end of each phone call I feel a sense of accomplishment that excites me for another call.
The adaptability value of Century is the most relevant to me. Every day I must adapt to the new problems or situations that come to me. You never know what is going to happen or what the next phone call is going to require from you. Being able to adapt to situations is the most important thing you can do.
I wish that I had understood when I was younger that you don’t have to grow up so fast. Take things slow and appreciate the people and events in your life.
